Volkswagen wants to be “The Auto”

The new tagline of everyone’s beloved creator of the VW parts is now “Das Auto”. This simply translates to, “The Auto”. Pretty soon, this will surely be used in worldwide campaigns as well. Perhaps the main goal of this German carmaker is to make people think of Volkswagen together with the word “car”. They launched this new tagline at the recently concluded Frankfurt Motor Show, replacing their old one, “Aus Liebe zum Automobil” or “For the Love of the Automobile”.
This simple but very smart strategy of Volkswaggen will help them achieve their goals better because this clears the path that the company should take. More than supplying people with the high-quality VW parts, Volkswagen must also start thinking of their clients. What do the people want in a car? What does it take to be called “the car”? While these things have probably been mapped out by the company already, one thing holds true: with the creation of the iconic Beetle, many people have entrusted Volkswagen to create more ideal cars. Hence, here comes their role in fulfilling their task as “the car”. Do not be surprised if the children will begin to draw Beetles once they hear the word “car”. For in time, this will not be so impossible.
